Problems with Impurities

PROBLEM:

CAUSE:

SOLUTION, REMEDY

ALWAYS FIRST, pH CONTROL IS NECESSARY

1) The water is "green" but clear.

a) Traces of iron from water filling (water is green/yellow)

b) Copper traces due to corrosion of copper surfaces (water is turquoise green)

Shock chlorination

Design:

1) regulate the pH value

2) eg dissolve the rapidly soluble granules for rapid chlorination and add it to the water

2) The water is brown and cloudy

high iron content in pool water/corroding iron parts

According to point no.1

3) The water is milky and cloudy

a) organic impurities
b) opacifiers (inorganic)
c) too much flocculation powder

a) Shock fine as point no.1
b) to regulate the pH-value.
c)  Reduce flocculation, bring dirt into the pool to prevent floccer from sticking to it

4) The water is black-brown and cloudy

The high manganese content in the water, possible due to groundwater

According to point no.1

5) The water is opaque green

The pool walls are green and slippery, growing algae

Shock chlorinate according to item 1 and add anti-algae preparation

6) The walls of the pool are rough

Scale deposits cause water hardness (lime)

Remove deposits with the preparation or drain the pool and use an acidic pool cleaner. Adjust pH to 7.0-7.4

7) The irritating smell of chlorine

Chlorine is bound in water Chloramine

Superchlorination - means to chlorinate such water to 10 times higher content of free chlorine than you measured bound.

8) Water foams strongly (in countercurrent systems)

The water contains a strong foaming algicide, remnants of wintering agents, or cleaning agents

Add more freshwater, do not use household cleaners, use antifoams

9) Corrosion

a) The pH value is too low

(b) traces of copper in the water

a) increasing the pH to 7.0-7.4

b) according to item no.1
